Lara has photographed for various periodicals including The New York Times, Vogue Brazil, Michigan Avenue Magazine.
She grew up in Michigan, studied graphic design, printmaking, and photography at the University of Arizona, Lorenzo di Medici Academy in Florence, and Columbus College of Art and Design.
Lara has been best known for extensively documenting Alinea restaurant, and for the Alinea book photography.
She is based in Chicago
